2012 Wishlist: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

I’m excited for this game because it seems like a good time waster like Skyrim. It’s not to say that Reckoning won’t be good because of a specific reason, it’s just that this type of game, like Skyrim, will take up a lot of time to play and immerse myself into the story. Also, I’m pretty sure there will be so many side missions that I’ll be busy for a while. So, let’s just say that I’m excited for this one and it’s action-packed RPG goodness!

2012 Wishlist: Halo 4

At the end of Halo 3, did anybody get a little irritated with the mysterious planet? Master Chief saved the galaxy from the Flood, the Halo rings, and the Covenant… what can be worse than all of that?

All my complaining aside, I shrieked happily when the trailer for Halo 4 was aired at E3 2011. Master Chief and Cortana are making their return as they hurtle toward some kind of doorway that looks like a piece of Forerunner technology. The explanation will have to wait until this Fall, since that is when the game was promised to be released. Keep your plasma grenades at the ready!

2012 Wishlist: Borderlands 2

The first Borderlands caught my attention with its bloody, but cartoon-ish art style, but as I played, I noticed something. THERE IS SO MUCH LOOT! Every time you kill something or someone, they drop something of value. And don’t forget all the crates and storage containers to be found.

The second installment should give us that, plus a lot more weapons and a revamped storyline, which actually doesn’t compare to the gameplay and the fact that you can kill big things with big guns! Playing with more than two people is always a treat, and I’m pretty sure that Borderlands 2 will provide that same sense of teamwork this year.

2012 Wishlist: Asura's Wrath

I’ve said before that this game is a God of War/Dragonball Z hybrid, and it’s coming to store soon! The action adventure comes at us with more quick time events than you can shake a stick at, and a lot of revenge to be had.

Betrayed by his brothers in arms, Asura is revived after 12000 years dead. He seeks to cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war as he goes after his ex-comrades Kill Bill-style. With over-the-top action and cut scenes that keep you on your toes, I wouldn't look past this one as we greet 2012. Try out the demo!

2012 Wishlist: Assassin's Creed 3

Ubisoft has confirmed that another Assassin’s Creed title will be released later this year, but since the game hasn’t officially been announced, I can only speculate as to what it might be. Assassin’s Creed 3 would be the one to end the series and answer all the questions that have been stirring since the first game

I assume that since all the events in the series lead up to some type of apocalypse that ties into the 2012-end-of-the-world panic. I hope this one delivers a clever, inventive story with a definitive climax that all the other Assassin’s Creed titles have dished out over the years.

2012

Happy New Year to all! I hope you all had a safe passage! Let’s jump right in, shall we?

January and February are undoubtedly the slowest months in gaming. Almost nothing good comes out, and everyone thinks about what to play next. Personally, I like to think of this time as layover until the gaming year really starts. Think about it; the holidays are over and a plethora of great titles have dropped into our laps. 2011 was an explosive year, and I can’t wait to see what is in store for this year.

So, for the next few months, catch up on what you missed last holiday season. Me? As I’ve gotten a chance to play a majority of the hits of 2011, I’m going to set my sights to what is ahead! I’m going to outline my top ten favorites because there are some that are dated for this year, but obviously won’t be out until next year. Here are the games on my wish list this year!
